What Is Covered, And What Is Not

Covered for 12 months

Peeling or flaking of the powder coated finish
Bubbling or blistering in the coating
Lacquer failure on the finish we applied
Corrosion creeping under the coating where the coating itself is at fault
Any defect in our preparation or application workmanship

Not covered

Kerb damage, impacts and accident damage after collection
Stone chips and road debris damage from normal driving
Damage from off-road or track use
Acid-based or harsh wheel cleaners and chemical damage
Damage caused by third parties, for example during a later tyre change elsewhere
Buckles, cracks and structural repairs, which carry their own workmanship warranty but are separate from the coating guarantee

We take a look

Bring the wheel to the workshop and we will inspect it. If the finish has failed under normal road use, it is covered. No arguing, no small print surprises.

We put it right

We strip and recoat the affected wheel free of charge, using the same process as the original refurbishment. Free tyre removal and refit included.

The Detail

Guarantee Terms

In plain English: look after your wheels with normal cleaning, drive normally, and if our coating fails within 12 months we will recoat the wheel free. The terms below just pin down the edges.

1. What the guarantee is

South Wales Alloys guarantees the powder coated finish it applies against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date you collect your wheels. This applies to full powder coat refurbishments carried out at our Newport workshop, including sets refurbished under any of our fixed price offers.

2. What we will do

Where a fault covered by this guarantee appears within the 12 month period, we will strip and recoat the affected wheel free of charge, including tyre removal and refitting. Rectification is our chosen remedy; the guarantee does not carry a cash alternative, and our liability is limited to the invoice value of the original work.

3. Conditions

The guarantee covers normal road use. Off-road use, track days and motorsport are excluded.
Clean the wheels with pH-neutral car shampoo or a dedicated non-acidic wheel cleaner. Acid-based cleaners, wheel-off acid dipping and strong traffic film removers will damage any wheel finish and void the guarantee.
Physical damage after collection is not covered: kerbing, impacts, accident damage, stone chips, corrosion spreading from later damage, or damage caused during tyre changes carried out elsewhere.
The guarantee applies to the original customer and the original wheels, and you will need your booking reference or invoice to make a claim.
Diamond cut faces, painted bodywork and brake caliper finishes are separate services with their own workmanship cover, and are not part of this powder coat guarantee.

4. How to claim

Contact us within the guarantee period on 01633 226 305, via WhatsApp, or at sales@southwalesalloys.co.uk. Send your booking reference and photos of the issue, and we will book the wheel in for inspection at 1-2 Coomassie St, Newport NP20 2JP.

5. Your statutory rights

This guarantee is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
