Alloy Wheel Refurbishment FAQs

Powder coating is £108 per wheel including VAT, or £132 for wheels over 21 inch, with kerb damage repair included. Diamond cutting is £162 per wheel, or £180 over 21 inch. See our full alloy wheel repair and refurbishment prices.

Straightening is £96 per wheel and crack repair £126 per wheel, both including VAT, with tyre removal and refit included. Crack repairs are booked in on Wednesdays. See wheel straightening and welding.

Tyre removal and balancing is £18 per wheel on powder coating and diamond cutting. Bring bare wheels and there is no tyre charge, and if you buy new tyres with your booking the charge is waived.

Send us a photo of each wheel and your registration through our free quote form and we come back with a price. You can also book online for powder coating in our standard colours.

No. We are a drop-off workshop at 1-2 Coomassie Street, Newport NP20 2JP. Powder coating, diamond cutting and straightening all need workshop equipment that cannot go in a van.

Monday to Friday. You pick a drop-off day when you book and we confirm it with you.

Most wheels are turned around in 48 to 72 hours. Some sets take longer to strip, depending on how tough the existing coating is. We confirm timings when we book you in.

Everything is done at our Newport workshop, and customers bring their wheels in from across South Wales, including Cardiff, Cwmbran, Caerphilly, Pontypool, Chepstow, Bridgend and Swansea.

When you book online you can pay in full by card, Klarna or Clearpay, put down a £50 deposit by card, or book now and pay at drop-off.

Yes. Klarna pay in 3 splits the cost into three interest-free payments and Clearpay pay in 4 into four, subject to approval.

Carl, our workshop manager, and Wiktor, in-house at our workshop on Coomassie Street, Newport. Your wheels never leave the workshop.

Gloss black, silver and gunmetal grey are our standard powder coat colours and can be booked online. We can also match your original factory colour or mix a custom shade, quoted individually, in a gloss, matte, satin or textured finish. See your wheels in a new colour first.

Yes. Diamond cut wheels go back on our own lathe for a fresh cut and new lacquer. We are not currently taking deep dish wheels for diamond cutting. See diamond cut repairs.

Every powder coated finish is covered for 12 months against peeling, flaking, bubbling and lacquer failure. Read the guarantee.

Yes. We are an official Wolfrace dealer with brand new alloy wheels in stock, and we sell tyres alongside a wheel refurbishment.

Bodywork is handled by AMS Point bodyshop, three doors down on Coomassie Street and owned by one of the owners of South Wales Alloys. We also do brake caliper refurbishment.

Yes. Garages, dealers and other trade customers can apply for a trade account.
