Alloy Wheel Repair Bridgend
South Wales Alloys is a dedicated wheel refurbishment workshop in Newport, about 35 minutes east of Bridgend along the M4, offering CNC diamond cutting, powder coating, straightening and welding, with collection and delivery available if you'd rather not make the trip.
What Bridgend's Roads Do to Alloy Wheels
Bridgend sits on the M4 between Junction 35 (Pencoed) and Junction 36 (Sarn), and most of the wheels we see from the town belong to commuters covering serious motorway miles towards Cardiff or Swansea. A pothole or debris strike at motorway speed does more than scuff a rim: it buckles it, and on low-profile tyres it can crack the barrel. That's straightening and welding territory, not a cosmetic touch-up.
Around town the damage is slower but just as common: kerbed rims from the tight parking at the McArthurGlen designer outlet by J36, scuffs picked up on the estate roads around Brackla, Coity and Litchard, and kerb rash from the retail parks off the A473 through Pencoed.
Down the A4106, Porthcawl adds a different problem: salt. Once it creeps under the lacquer on a diamond-cut wheel, the finish lifts and turns milky. An oven-baked powder coat stands up to coastal conditions far better than paint.
A Proper Workshop, 35 Minutes Up the M4
Mobile smart-repair vans can tidy light kerb marks, but they can't re-cut a diamond-cut face, bake a powder coat or press a buckle out of a rim. Our Newport workshop runs a CNC diamond-cutting lathe, powder coating ovens, spray facilities and hydraulic straightening equipment, the full process under one roof.
Straightening & Welding
Motorway pothole strikes corrected hydraulically; cracks welded where structurally safe.
Diamond Cut Repairs
Genuine CNC lathe re-cut: the machined finish a mobile van can't reproduce.
Powder Coating
Oven-baked, corrosion-resistant finish. The sensible choice for coastal cars.
Alloy Wheel Refurbishment
Kerbed, scuffed or peeling wheels fully stripped and refinished in any colour.
Car Body Repair
Scuffed bumpers, scratches and dents resprayed while your wheels are with us.
Brake Caliper Refurbishment
Calipers stripped and powder coated to match or contrast with your alloys.
Covering Bridgend County
We take in wheels from Brackla, Coity, Litchard, Wildmill, Cefn Glas, Broadlands, Pencoed, Sarn, Aberkenfig, Tondu, Brynmenyn, Maesteg and along the coast at Porthcawl and Ogmore-by-Sea. If the drive to Newport doesn't suit, we can arrange collection and delivery, and you can spread the cost with Klarna pay-in-3. Tyre removal and balancing is £15 per wheel, so there's no need to visit a tyre fitter before or after.
