Alloy Wheel Repair Chepstow
Whether kerbed on the High Street, buckled on a Wye Valley lane or blistered by winter salt off the estuary, South Wales Alloys in Newport is 20–25 minutes from Chepstow via the M48 or A48, with collection and delivery if you’d rather not make the run yourself.
A Border Town with a Workshop Twenty Minutes Down the Road
Chepstow sits right on the edge of Wales, where the Wye meets the Severn, and our catchment here runs across both banks. On the Welsh side we regularly take wheels in from Bulwark, Thornwell, Pwllmeyric, Mathern and St Arvans; across the river we cover Sedbury, Tutshill and Beachley, and further out Caldicot, Portskewett, Shirenewton, Tintern and the Lydney side of the Forest of Dean.
The trip is short from either bank. The M48 and M4 bring you to Junction 26 in about 20 minutes; the A48 through Caerwent and Penhow takes closer to 25 and skips the motorway. For customers on the Gloucestershire side, the old Severn Bridge has been toll-free since the end of 2018, so reaching Newport costs nothing extra.
What Chepstow Does to a Set of Alloys
The town centre was never laid out with modern cars in mind. The High Street narrows to a single arch at the old town gate, Bridge Street drops steeply towards the Wye, and the parking squeezed around both means kerbed rims are the damage we see most on Chepstow cars. Race days at Chepstow Racecourse add their own toll: traffic stacking up on the A466 past St Arvans and cars edged tight against kerbs and verges around Piercefield.
Out of town it’s the lanes. The A466 down through the Wye Valley to Tintern is narrow, wooded and blind in places, and pulling in hard for an oncoming car often means a hidden verge edge, a mud-slicked drop-off or a pothole you never saw. Add winter salt in the air off the estuary, which creeps under lacquer and blisters diamond cut faces, and NP16 wheels earn their refurbishment.
