Alloy Wheel Repair Cwmbran
Cwmbran is the closest town to our Coomassie Street workshop: straight down the A4051, no motorway. Drop the car in on your way into Newport, or have us collect the wheels.
Down the A4051, Not Across the Country
Of every area South Wales Alloys covers, Cwmbran is the shortest trip. Leave the town centre on Cwmbran Drive, keep going as the A4051 becomes Malpas Road, and you'll pull up outside 1-2 Coomassie Street in ten to fifteen minutes. That matters, because the repairs that actually last need workshop equipment — a CNC lathe for diamond cut faces, an oven-cured powder coating line, hydraulic gear for straightening — and for Cwmbran drivers all of it sits one road away.
We regularly take in cars and wheels from Pontnewydd, Old Cwmbran, Llantarnam, Fairwater, Greenmeadow, Thornhill, St Dials, Coed Eva, Two Locks, Oakfield, Llanyravon and Croesyceiliog. Commuting into Newport? Drop the car with us in the morning, or leave just the loose wheels and keep the car. If neither works, we offer collection and delivery across NP44.
A Town Built on Roundabouts
Cwmbran was laid out as a new town, and the road plan shows it — the place runs on roundabouts, from the big ones along Cwmbran Drive down to the mini-roundabouts threaded through the estates. Every one is a chance to clip a kerb, and kerbing on nearside wheels is comfortably the most common damage we see on Cwmbran cars. The car parks around Cwmbran Shopping add their share of scraped rims, and the A4042 towards Pontypool can buckle a wheel outright.
A kerb scuff is cosmetic until it isn't: left through a winter, salt works under the damaged lacquer and the alloy beneath starts to corrode — a dearer repair than the original graze. A buckle is more urgent still, causing steering vibration and slow pressure loss. Either way, sooner is cheaper.
